Our Mission
Geneva Reformed Church exists to uphold the Reformed faith to glorify God and to evangelize the lost world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our aim is to make disciples of the nations through the Word of God, to extend the true biblical worship of God in the earth and in heaven.
Our Principles
Biblical
The Bible is God’s Word to His Church, the Old and New Testaments, and it is inerrant and infallible. God’s Word is the ultimate authority that all of mankind must joyfully receive and yield to especially, His Church. God’s Word is the foundational authority in the church. We desire to base our worship and our very lives on its teaching. Scripture alone is the eternal Word of God and there is no higher authority or court of appeal than the almighty God Himself.
Covenantal
We are a Protestant Congregation (rather than Roman Catholic), committed to those biblical truths that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone all to the glory of God alone. Geneva Reformed Church is covenantal meaning we follow and believe the Scriptures concerning God’s revelation, redemption and resolve for the universe.
God made a covenant of works with Adam that if he obeyed he would live but if he disobeyed (eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil) he would bring death upon himself and his posterity. Adam disobeyed God and failed the covenant of works.
It pleased God to make a covenant of grace with mankind, all those who would come to faith in Him through Jesus Christ. This covenant of grace has different administrations, Abrahamic Covenant, Mosaic Covenant and the Davidic Covenant. Jesus Christ fulfilled the covenant of works, its righteous requirements and penalty of death for breaking it, for all whom God has given Him. The covenant of grace includes believers and their children with the hopes that the children will continue in the faith.
Salvation is all for God’s glory whereby He purchased a people for the unending worship for His grace and kindness that He brought through Jesus Christ our Lord. God promised His Son a bride and the Son, because He loved His Father, purchased His bride, the Church, with His own blood at Calvary. Now God is our God and we are His people.
Reformed & Confessional
Geneva Reformed Church embraces Reformed theology which we believe is what the Bible teaches. We believe the clear biblical teaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was sharpened and clarified in the Protestant Reformation. Our teaching, belief and practice reflects the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms.
